Donna Rowell

Donna Rowell-Davis is a Registered Nurse with over 35 years of experience. Her experience is in Intensive Care Units, post-anesthesia care units, Burn Intensive Care Units, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Emergency Medicine, Home Care, Nurse Case Manager, and school nursing. She is very passionate about nursing and if she weren’t a nurse, she would have been a concert pianist or cardiovascular surgeon. If she had things to do over again, she would become a Dermatologist because as a teenager, her skin was horrible with severe acne. She joined the Army after becoming a nurse. She envisioned herself traveling to exotic countries and working as a military ICU nurse, it was nothing like that. After serving the country for over 24 years, she retired from the army with 6 years of active duty with 2 deployments, and the rest as a reservist. She was a certified ICU nurse and nurse case manager in the military.

While on active duty, she enjoyed working with soldiers and their families in the military hospital. She learned what the military was about while serving as an active-duty officer and soldier. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Social Work/Medical Technology, Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing with a diploma in Nursing, Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and The University of Phoenix with a Master of Science in Nursing Administration with a minor in Teaching. She has been employed with the Detroit Public Schools Community District as a Special Education School Nurse for adults 18-26 years with a multitude of health/behavior health challenges in a post-secondary school setting for over 28 years. Donna is very passionate about her students and feels it is a calling to work with individuals who have special needs.

She is a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., a professional nursing organization, Kappa Epsilon Psi Sorority, Inc., a professional military sorority, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

She currently serves as the Vice-President of Indian Village Manor Condominium Association, Instructor for the Community Emergency Response Team, Chairperson of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, and Chairperson of the Crisis/Emergency Response Team for Charles R. Drew Transition Center and is a very active member with her professional organizations.
